the big time

I probably never mentioned how I bought a midi-keyboard around my last birthday, nor do I recall mentioning my intentions to become an electronic music recording artist of the internationally renowned nature. It’s taking longer than I thought. It’s like writing; you have to actually put some effort in if you want to get anywhere.
Using a boosted copy of garageband 08, here is my first ditty, working-titled backbeet (1.1mb) and officially titled Throwing a letter off Pohang pier in January.

That’s all we know for sure.

I think that no matter how much stuff I had there would always be something out there on the horizon of stuff that I had desire for. That’s not a complaint, it’s okay with me. It’s okay because these days I have a bunch of stuff that I wanted, say, 5 years ago. When I really think about it, I had most of the same kind of thing back then too, but perhaps different. Different computer, different guitar, different digital camera.

Here is a picture of my current heart’s desire, the Rickenbacker 4003 bass guitar, known for its ringing sustain, treble punch and solid underlying bass. It plays in stereo which makes it better than all other bass guitars. Lots of cool people have played them through the years and I’ve certainly been aware of it. People such as Kim gordon, mod-rockers, Yes, and Joy Divison.
Reading the wikipedia page about the televison show, Are You Being Served?, and how it mentions that the bassline to the theme song was probably donw with a Rickenbacker tipped the scales. Ref. Are You Being Served?.

Land of confusion

Hi. I was just sitting here eating dinner, listening to Phil Collins, reading about Phil Collins and thinking about Phil Collins when I noticed at the bottom of the wikipedia page for the album, No Jacket Required there was a little bit of the smash hit, Sussudio.

Who needs the rest of the internet now that wikipedia has been made for us?

I clicked on the link and because the music was in .ogg format, it opened in a program called audacity. Instead of just listening to it passively I was presented with the opportunity of showing my love of Phil by reworking his track which reached #4 on the hot dance / club play charts.

One point five megabites : Sussudioogg.mp3.

bugman folly

I have been ejected from my apartment for the next four hours because THE MAN wants to spray for “bugs”. A) There are no bugs in the building. B) The building is made out of cement so bugs can’t eat it. And C) the tox is going to kill me.

I am not a happy chappy.

However, the number of times I have thought about writing something here in the last two, three weeks, and ultimately didn’t is rolling over. Like a cockroach. I am/was stuck in the office for some time.

I think what happened was that I ran out of cute expressions, phrases and ideas for here. Everything seemed to be a reiteration of something previous. I had been thinking too much about who was clicking through rather than this as a record of sorts for my own personal goings on.

Things have still been happening. The other week I discovered a place inside a large shopping complex where one can go to shoot handguns. This interests me; I didn’t go in but maybe I will go back there in the coming weeks.

Bitter dregs.
