take me to the fair

I finally got through the re-filing of archived entries yesterday. My mouse hand hurts. i might have to think about the seating arrangement. Even with all that shunting and cut n’ paste there’s still a month missing which I didn’t realise. Bah.

I was wrong about that airshow – it’s on next weekend. i wonder how they work stuff out like petrol costs. Like if topgun flyboy gets here a week n’ a half early then one day decides he wants to go for a hoon over Corio Bay because he’s bored, does australia have to pay for his petrol, or is there some kind of running petrol tab between australia and america?

I might’ve mentioned that I’d lived in this very same joint in late ’98-99 — and all the neighbours are the same people, but I can’t work out if I’ve become more nosy or if they’ve become more obnoxious and/or weird. To the left is The Family Neanderthal. They just discovered fire last year and as a consequence are now having barbecues in the backyard 5 nights a week. My joint is right up against the fence that borders with them. That whole family would be an ideal character study for the next series of ‘Kath and Kim’. They’re just like that except not funny. In fact, anti-funny — depressing. bah.
And on the other side there’s a parallel bungalow-guy, except it’s his family who he’s living with. About a month ago I noticed that I hear them clap during the middle of the day sometimes. At first I assumed that they were watching the cricket on tv. I don’t know. There’s no cricket or sport on anymore during the day. They’re still clapping. Also he has doves. White pidgeons at least. He lets them out of what ever cage they live in, they fly up onto the roof of one of the front houses, walk around the way dickhead pidgeons do and then the guy whistles at them to come down. He’s always whistling. At least it’s not a really loud kind of whistle. It’s just weird. Why would you let them out if you just wanted them to come back straight away?

I went to the computer fair this morning. I hadn’t been to it in… a long time. Two years or something. It was okay. Got slack. More on that in a day or two.

Unfortunately, for all those interesting people in the world, there are also the small minded, uninteresting. Now i know you weren’t being that harsh but …

…. ….

Ya know, YS, I can’t remember what I was going to say, because the television stole my attention span and I am unable to re-read what you were talking about… (wonder why??)

wait… wait… ctrl-n…

Oh yes, it was a recent picture that you had up here that reminded me: “it takes different strokes”

… even if i don’t like all the strokes

I took the replication of the post away because it seemed too self-important. Haha. (Also google was grabbing all the text twice). The back button doesn’t interrupt a post.

Yes… you’re right about people. I s’pose it’s just one of those summer things – with all the windows open everyone seems a lot closer.

Wasn’t hassling you decision to remove the replication, but rather think it funny that I have the audacity to whinge again after the pop-up whinge!
